The Loft Gallery at the Smithy Store will host an opening reception for Connecticut artists, Ecka Blaire Faulds and Peter Wnek, on Saturday, November 19 from 4-6pm. The reception is free and open to the public. This exhibit of paintings by Ms. Faulds, and photography by Mr. Wnek will be on view through Sunday, December 31.
Peter’s style of photography span from the altered and image composite photos of the digital realms for his commercial assignments to a more ethereal, romantic feel of his small format camera captures, while also striving for the purists perspective when creating an image with a large format view camera.
Ecka Blaire Faulds received her BFA in Painting from the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford and her work has been selected for a number of awards and exhibitions including the Washington Art Association’s “Young Talent Exhibition” in 2012, designed to showcase promising artists under the age of 30; and for award by curators of the Guggenheim Museum, New York.
She participated in the first residency of Artspace: Torrington, in Connecticut (now known as Five Points Gallery), which served to foster an open dialogue between the general public and working artists – encouraging exploration, opinion, and interest. She currently resides in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, and works for the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

The Loft Gallery will open a new exhibit, ‘ESSENCE’, featuring landscape and gardenscape paintings by Ridgefield artist, ANN KROMER, on Saturday, April 9. This exhibit runs through Sunday, May 22.
Guests are invited to meet the artist at the artist's opening reception on Saturday, April 9th from 4 - 6pm. The reception is free and open to the public.
Ann paints from nature in an impressionistic style, mostly en plein air, bringing a compelling immediacy to her work. More recently, she has begun doing loose, free vibrant watercolors while traveling the countryside alongside her husband. She paints spontaneously as they drive, capturing the essence of the scenery rather than accurate depictions, calling these watercolors her "drive bys".
Ann's landscapes and gardenscapes are in many corporate and private collections throughout the United States. She has won many awards for her oil and acrylic paintings, including Best of Show at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists juried by New York Times art critic, William Zimmer.
The Loft Gallery opens their next exhibit, SECOND NATURE, featuring painter, Heather Scofield, on Saturday, February 27th.
Heather relocated to Kent Connecticut, from Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1990's and became part of the Kent School community where her husband teaches art.
Surrounded by the beauty of New England and the Northwest Corner and Maine where she spends her summers, Heather was inspired to paint landscapes of the magnificent land around her.
She has most recently exhibited her paintings as an elected artist at the Kent Art Association's "Elected Artists Show" last spring and the Akin Museum's "Meeting Past" show in Pawling, NY last fall, and a solo exhibit at the Kent Memorial Library Gallery in Kent, CT last November and December.
Guests are invited to meet the artists at the Artist’s Reception on Saturday, February 27 from 4 - 6pm. The opening is free and open to the public.
